About US
YHWHs.com has been started to reach out to the world to locate true disciples. We are a family with five children located in Spokane, Washington. We spend most of our time looking at Scripture, history and early Christian literature so that we may be able to imitate the things we have found in the first century body of Christ. We also are hoping to better equip ourselves so that we may be able to see God's church when we find it. Please feel free to look around our web site and ask questions/comments through our email or discussion.
Our family has been pursuing the Way and challenging our traditional teachings for over 5 years now. Brandi was baptized in October of 2000 and Paul was baptized in June of 1990. We have been married for 8 years as of July 20th of this year. (2006)
Our hope is to find other disciples and form a community of disciples on a large piece of land in the Ozarks somewhere. We are hoping to be self dependant and be able to live off of the land. We want to follow the advice of scripture concerning leading a quiet life. We work hard and have become debt free less our home mortgage which we will be able to sell in a year and a half.
We are in prayer often that God will provide a land flowing with milk and honey for our families and the generations to come. We are hoping to be able to work with our hands and earn the respect of outsiders. We want to live our lives to bring glory to YWHH and live our lives through Christ.
Our convictions grow and change as we do and God shows us more of his wonderful Word. We have not "arrived" in our convictions and we hope that our children will continue to grow in Christ and the Word of God.
Brandi and I realize that there are other disciples out there somewhere and we continually look for them. So far, those which we have found have felt separation for one doctrinal difference or another is needed. I have included our basic beliefs below for your convenience. It is our conviction that we need to be gracious about differences in conviction which are not "sins which lead to death."
We hope to find more family as we reach out. We have a consistant outreach from our home where we offer help to those in need and studies for anyone any time. We have bible studies in our home usually on Thursday. We spend Saturdays together as a family day.
It is our conviction that disciples will want to live with eachother in a community and share all their possessions with eachother. (A communal life so to speak)
This section is in constant revision as we learn and grow.
There are some basic fundamental convictions we hold that are true in order to be a disciple of Jesus Christ
I will be adding or changing these statements over the next few weeks:
We believe and openly confess that:
• There is one God (Yahweh Almighty)
• He has one son Yahshua (Jesus) who was with Him in the beginning and became flesh by conception of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
• He lived a sinless life and therefore was an acceptable atonement for the sins of the world.
• Yahshua was put to death in the flesh, was buried and raised on the third day to everlasting life.
• Salvation is found in no one but Yahshua and he is the only means of communion with Father Yahweh. He was given the Name which is higher that that of all on earth and in heaven.
• If we hear the word of God, believe it, repent and are baptized into the name of Yahshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) for the forgiveness of our sins, we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and be united with Messiah.
• As disciples of Messiah (Jesus), we live as strangers in this world. We do not partake in the activities of the Kingdoms of this world, such as politics, voting, war, taking oaths, holidays and the like. We strive to do good to all men and love our enemies in word and actions.
• The Lord's disciples should dress modestly, not attempting to attract attention to themselves. Men should wear their hair cut short and women should not cut their hair short and should wear a proper head covering. We also find the wearing of expensive clothing, gold, silver, pearls and costly stones inappropriate for disciples who profess Yahshua as Lord of their lives.
• Children of disciples should be raised in the Lord, schooled by disciples and taught obedience and reverence. (when possible)
• Messiah returned in the first century in judgment on Jerusalem as he promised his disciples that he would.
• We look forward to being resurrected after our deaths to be with the Lord forever.
• Scripture is inspired and entirely true. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore flawless. If we think something from it is in error then it is our understanding or the translation which is incorrect and not the scripture itself.
